Tanya Sammut

BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist | EMDR UK Accredited Practitioner | Registered Nurse Mental Health Nurse

I work gently and collaboratively with clients, creating a safe space to explore what’s been difficult and to find ways forward together. I draw on evidence-based, NICE-recommended therapies to support healing, reduce distress, and help people reconnect with a sense of calm, confidence, and purpose. It’s been a real privilege to walk alongside people from all kinds of backgrounds, in the military, the NHS, private practice, and corporate settings, each bringing their own story, resilience, and hopes for change.

My Experience

I first trained as a Mental Health Nurse in the British Army, where I developed a deep respect for the strength and resilience people can show, even in the most difficult circumstances. Since then, I’ve continued to build on that foundation, training in a range of therapeutic approaches including CBT, EMDR, CFT, ACT, and Mindfulness, and working across the NHS, private practice, and the corporate sector.

I’m accredited with both the BABCP and EMDR UK, and I place great importance on maintaining the highest standards of care in my work. I regularly attend specialist training and professional conferences to stay current with the latest research and best practice, ensuring that the therapy I offer is both compassionate and evidence-based.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each person I work with. I believe therapy should feel like a safe space to explore what’s been painful, while gently finding new ways to heal, grow, and reconnect with a sense of calm, confidence, and self-compassion. My aim is always to walk alongside clients with understanding and respect, helping them move towards the life they want to live.
